New Project - Joker Short Film

Hey everyone. It's been a long time but I've began work on a new, big project. Once again Kyle Cheal and my self have teamed up for a short film about the Joker. Well, sort of anyways. You'll have to see it. So far I'm working on the Joker model. Now remember, character modeling is definitely not my strength but I don't think this is too bad. It is "pretty much" done, except for the head of course. And there are some things I need to add that you can probably see.

My particular job on this short film is to model/texture/render all of it, which is actually quite a lot of work. Kyle Cheal will be doing all of the animation, which we actually want to start as soon as possible. We don't have a set date for the film's release.

More Life Drawings - Old and New

Here are some more life drawings. There are some old ones that are more clear as some of the other pictures are blurry, plus a bunch of new ones. They range from 15 second gestures to 40 minutes.

Render Test on Cafe and some updates.

Here's basically a quick render test with Final Gathering and global illumination on the Paris Street, with a subtle composite of Ambient Occlusion.. It's almost done! The texturing isn't 100% complete and neither are the window shaders, but this is sort of the direction I want the lighting to go.

This is what it will look like on my demo reel at least, as still images. Kyle's animated short will look similar but not quite as sharp. He won't be using final gathering or global illumination in his version, just due to time constraints on render times. This scene needs to be complete by Wednesday, as that is my deadline plus Kyle needs to start his rendering of his short then. With this lighting setup it turned out quite alright I think.

I want to change some things, like the sidewalk texture is a little too bright, and the unwrap is a little off on it. Otherwise It should be done by Wednesday. I'm going to be working on it almost all day tomorrow and Wednesday morning. Wednesday evening I will be rendering the scene, and compiling the other pieces to complete my demo reel, which 100% must be done on June 11th!

There were a few things I would've liked to add to this scene, but due to time constraints I wasn't able to complete them. That's how it goes unfortunately.
